making time count
I'll be donating blood for the first time ever this week.
What motivated me to do so is the shortage we're having in the country right now; and BC has a terrible track record (only 2% of the population donates).
I don't exactly know why I haven't done so before...I think it's simply something that hasn't really crossed my mind to do (the importance of the act hasn't struck me before, at least not enough to motivate me to go).
and it's got me thinking, what about you? are you a regular blood donor? why/why not?

i donate blood, but not on a regular basis. the last two times i went, i didn't pass the iron test. in essence, there was not enough iron in my blood. Which is a shame, because I really enjoy donating blood.
Good for you ellie :)
I attempted to give blood once...I passed the many steps of the screening process and got into the big, comfy chair. The guy came at me with a garden hose sized needle...only to not be able to access my vein. *sigh*...it's not something I want to experience again. Good for you though!
