on your fourteenth birthday

dear iris,
so this is becoming a bit of a tradition. Yes, I know...it is often to your disadvantage that you have a sister who works in the media; who will often try to turn something personal into a good story. or a decent piece of writing.

I still stand my reasoning two years ago that this is a good venue to wish you a happy birthday because I want the whole world to know how special you are!

Thank you for getting my stuff from upstairs when I'm too lazy...
For following my "commands" in the kitchen...
For sometimes being the voice of reasoning when I can't find my way out of a problem...
For offering to take the bus when I have worship team on Sunday mornings and there's no extra car at home...
For keeping me company when I shop for groceries and run mundane errands...

I hope that you will continue to grow in your wisdom, and in your willingness to love others. don't ever let someone else determine what you're worth...because your Heavenly Father has already claimed you as His precious child.
