Away We Go - Official Trailer

This was one of those trailers that just made me want to sprint to the theatres right away - ok, so that might have had to do with my undying love for john krasinski/jim halpert. it was irresistible, the combination of sam mendes as director, dave eggers (I heart dave eggers) writing his first screenplay with his wife, and music by alexi murdoch...who am I to resist?

and I certainly didn't. I went to check it out with my favourite movie buddy and the rest is history. "away we go" made me laugh, tear up, think and feel - everything that a good movie should be. it's not mind blowing in any flashy way - in fact, it's quite understated. it's simply about two people who love each other who are trying to make things work, and figure out for themselves what "home" is, wherever that may be. it's about figuring out the building blocks of life for yourself (in this case, for their own little family), and finding that maybe you don't need to have it all together all the time.

*happy sigh*. this movie was such a great reminder that, despite all the crap that hollywood churns out these days, there are still these rare little gems. thank God for that.
