the "evils" of facebook

for the longest time, I completely dismissed facebook as another "friendster", or "xanga", or even "asian avenue" (oh dear...do people remember that? that's like...totally ICQ age). I saw people on it during class, heard about posting on "walls", and was generally not enticed by the idea. However, this would be BEFORE I witnessed its magical powers.

the other night, browsing through friends of friends of friends (on a friend's account), I realized: crapola! people I haven't talked to for YEARS are on this! people who have moved away, that I've moved away from...all the likes. the most interesting (and time-wasting) aspect of facebook is browsing through your friends' "friends list" and finding people you had once known in some way, somehow...the possibilities are endless!
And seriously...facebook is really the epitome of stalker behaviour, is it not? Reading other people's conversations, looking at who their friends are...this is digital voyeurism! (And boy is it fun.)

I blame my joining on the people who showed its powers to me. *knocking of fists a la ross*

you know, cuz I like to blame everyone else for my problems :)
