Sounds like a lot is going on with you these days. Maybe your intelligence is causing you to think too much! :) I will support you in prayer and hope that God will restore joy in you in spite of, or maybe because of, the stuff you've been going through.
Onto mistakes. I don't really believe in carrying the past with me... obviously it's hard to forget mistakes and such, but I think one of the neat things about God is that he can take all of the pain and release us from that. It doesn't mean we should continue to sin and cause ourselves pain, but I guess I view it as grace and mercy increasing every time we make mistakes and confess them.

because my answer is yes
simply because on a personal level
i forget easy
you know that saying "fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me"?
well, that's what I believe in
and that's why it's good to have daily reminder to not err
