sunday reflections

my heart is greedy
always asking for more, criticizing the unsaid
displeased
immaturity bursting at the seams

we all want more love in our lives
surely enough
if you ask some stranger on the street
"would you like to be loved more?"
they certainly would say "yes"

but we work so hard at simply criticizing
externalizing the problem
we forget

all you can ever really do
if you wish to be loved better
is to love others in the same way

truth of the matter is
i ask too much
and give too little
