oyama meats - food porn

ok, so it's more like cheese porn...but I digress.

Oyama Meats on Granville Island is one of those "old reliables" for me. I can count on the stuff being fresh, the service being swift (but polite), and generally, for the cute Spanish guy to be working (Haha!).

On the Saturday night that Krusty was in, we decided it would be best to stay in and just chill. To us, that meant the following was required: a) bottle of wine, b) cheese, c) delicious cured meats, and d) fresh baguette.
We already had Krusty's J.Lohr Cabernet Sauvignon - and the rest could be found right at the market.

That day, I procured some elk w/ eldonberry (sp?), speck, and a type of brie/camembert that I have now forgotten. usually, I would also grab some pate (venison with cranberries! pate a la campagne!), but for some reason I forgot that day...
next stop was terra breads for a french baguette, and dinner was set. don't worry...we also had veggies. I would die without my veggies. You'll get a peek at that meal in the next edition of food porn :)

ROFL,Jo. I didn't even clue into that until you mentioned it.

I love your food porn entries, Vespertine! I don't know half the ingredients you mention most of the time, but that's what makes your blog so entertaining and educational all at once. Such a teacher thing for me! :) Keep up the good writing!

And Tree, thanks for the kind words! Do I get a gold star?
